Short and Sweet Breathe Retreat
45,00 €
This short retreat is all about digesting the festive season so far, and making space for yourself to look towards 2025 with more clarity and calm.
This all over practice will infuse your mind, body, heart and spirit with harmony and balance, and consciously make space for the new year to come.
We will begin with a steady and rhythmic yoga and movement practice for all levels, anchoring bones, massaging sore muscles and enlivening the core to digest and rest.
There will be a break for tea to connect and reflect on lessons and learnings of 2024.
A short laughter yoga practice using sound and breath to remind us what these festive times are really all about, and a unique yoga nidra to reset ourselves, digest the Christmas so far, and rest in a deep pause to enable us to breathe fully in mind heart and body as we move towards the end of the year. Zoom link & venue location will be sent with confirmation email. breathewiththebeat@gmail.com
Breath is the bridge between the mind and body, it is the essence of our spirit (in fact the word for breath comes from the same word for spirit in both latin and Irish.. ) How we breathe is deeply intertwined with how we live.. This 3 hour retreat aims to work with the power of the breath both an activating and dynamic way (part 1) and in a deactivating and relaxing way (part 2)
Breathe with the Beat is fundamentally based on inhaling and exhaling balanced breaths (in rhythm with a specifically curated soundtrack) and syncing those balanced breaths with balanced movements in the body. The first hour of this retreat will be a strong, steady and rhythmic practice for all levels and abilities to 'unplug' your mind from the internet of technology, while activating your life force and plugging you back into your original embodied 'innernet'.
The focus of this first hour will be on liberating life force energy, celebrating the breath, and cultivating a conscious connection with each part of the body, breath by breath and movement by movement. The original and transformative breathwork, with the somatic and sensory nature of the sonically charged mindful movements supports this so well. We are breathing, syncing, listening, counting, regulationg breath movement, beat and body, heart and mind. This is a festival practice Karla has developed for festivals and groups and is deep and effective as well as joyful and fun!
We end this first part on the feet, uplifted, regulated and energised, liberated from the wifi of the world and attuned into our own energy frequency. Theres time for soup and salads and raw treats from Olivia. Connection and refreshment time!
The second part of the retreat is all about slowing down and deepening our rest state and finding the freest and fullest and slowest and deepest breath we can.
After our laughter yoga and a pause to reflect with tea on 2024's lessons and learnings, we all descend to the floor with a long sequence to connect to and relax all parts of the psoas muscle, which is sometimes called the fight or flight muscle, because of how it holds onto trauma. Yoga nidra for our future selves is our final practice.
I'm excited to offer this retreat and explore the two aspects of my practice that I treasure, the activation and liberation of breathing with the beat and the deep and soothing therapeutic practice of deep constructive rest.
